Two For Tuesday Playlist: Indie Pop

Two For Tuesday Playlist

Independent Music (often referred to as "Indie Music") has seen tremendous growth over the past few years.  Indie artists are those who independently record and produce music instead of using a large commercial record label.  Somehow, over the years this has developed into a genre of music.  All indie artists do not have the same sound.  When people refer to a song as being "indie" they are most likely talking about a kind of alternative rock music.  Today's genre is "indie pop".  We have had the pleasure of working personally with one of the biggest names in this genre.  We can't be any more specific than that at this point, but tomorrow we will share it all with you.  Indie Pop originated in the 1980s in the United Kingdom, with the help of The Smiths.  Indie Pop differs from its Indie Rock counterpart by being more melodic and less corrosive.  I hope you enjoy todays Two For Tuesday Playlist.
[If you do not use Spotify, the track list for the Playlist will be posted tomorrow evening for your viewing]

  1. The band they are talking about must be Passion Pit. Look at all the references they have made lately. Three of the bands in the playlist are opening acts for Passion Pit's tour. Passion Pit is also an option in their latest poll. I hope this is true because I love them, so unique/original. It would be great to see what TNMR could do if they worked with them "personally". I'm excited!

  4. For some reason, they have not been posting lately, but TNMR just shared this message on their FB page. Thought y'all would want to know this:

"We have had a tough time posting this week, but we have some exciting news regarding our "Press" credibility. At the end of March, we will have the opportunity to work with Passion Pit during a performance on their current tour. Also, we have set up an interview with the people at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, which is held in June. It looks like we may be there to cover this amazing event!"

Hope this all works out, and they can post some more reviews soon!

    3. Thanks Sam! I thought Bonnaroo only lets the big companies with Press credentials get in. Imagine if Taking Notes was working side-by-side with RollingStone and Yahoo and Billboard!! THATS COOLA
